Some more about me…
My name is Nikkole Hardy. I am a software developer that craves feedback and loves a challenge with three years of experience in front-end development and Agile development methodologies.
I am currently completing the Columbia University's Justice Through Code program to expand my expertise in back-end development using Python and Django as a Full-stack Software Engineer. I am also, at present, a web developer at a small startup called Yorklyn Civic Design providing web support and both developing and projects using WordPress.
My journey as a developer began once I completed a MERN full-stack development bootcamp using MongoDB, Express JS, React and Node provided by PersevereNow. Upon completion, I was hired at Banyan Labs LLC. as a junior developer receiving on the job training, mentorship, learned new skills, gained essential experience working on real-life software projects, and mastering the software development lifecycle.
Prior to joining the tech industry, I upheld a seven-year career in client and customer relations with experience leading teams of 10 - 20 individuals, conducting annual reviews and managing their training development and growth. With a ‘customer obsessed’ driven work ethic ingrained throughout the years, I can confidently deliver when cultivating retention and loyalty among our customers.
I chose this career change due to the fast-paced industry growth, stronger job prospects, increased job security and the endless possibilities or opportunities that the tech industry allows. It is my dream to solely provide for my children comfortably along with the ability to maintain a healthy work/life balance.
I want to be a part of pushing this industry forward and I know that with my skillset and knowledge base, I will make an immediate and substantial impact on any company.
